When you enroll at Ozarks, you will be assigned a faculty advisor. Each semester, you will meet with your advisor prior to registration to plan or confirm your class schedule. However, the advisor's role does not end with registration. During the course of the year, the advisor is available for conferences with you on academic and other matters.
For first-time freshmen, your advisor will be your Critical Inquiry instructor. For transfer students, your advisor will be a faculty advisor from within the discipline of your major.
When you formally declare a major, you will select an advisor from within the discipline of the major. You should formally declare a major and select your advisor by the end of your sophomore year. If you haven't declared a major by that time, you may be assigned to a general advisor.
If you declare a double major or declare a minor in a discipline different from the major, then you must have a secondary advisor in the second discipline.
