Professor Wofford has been with the Ozarks faculty since 1982. His decision to teach was driven by his own academic experiences, specifically, the lack of interaction he saw between student and professor and the absence of real-world applications. He says, "It has been, and is, my personal intent to better orient the student to the complexities of life. Through close and personal involvement with each student coupled with actual dynamic applications, students gain more insight into the holistic nature of the business community." Asked what he likes best about Ozarks, Professor Wofford replied, "Personally, I enjoy the opportunity to interact with students inside and outside the classroom, being able to assist students in being a vital part of this (or any) community, and finally, the beauty and splendor of the campus in relation to the geographic setting."

In speaking about the study of economics, Professor Wofford says, "Economics is a multifaceted discipline that assists one in making better informed decisions about all aspects of life. The ultimate aim is to enlighten one about decisions that must be made in a dynamic world." He says his students continue to amaze him with the new solutions they propose for old problems. "Their diligence and perseverance demonstrate that learning is a lifelong process!" He hopes his students will take these two things with them when they leave Ozarks: a sense of accomplishment in what they have just completed during their tenure at the university, and to apply the tools they have been equipped with to help foster the development of themselves, others, and society at large.

When he's not in the classroom, you might find Professor Wofford on the golf course. An avid golfer, he says, "This activity presents a challenge to any individual regardless of their ability or skill level. It allows one the opportunity to compete with oneself and others, develop relationships, and have physical activity regardless of the age."
