Social Sciences at Ozarks

The social sciences major provides instruction across a broad range of disciplines, including political science, geography, economics, psychology and sociology. it is designed to provide systematic inquiry into the human condition, and should enable a student to understand himself or herself as an evolving individual and as a contributing member of communities (e.g., family, religion, other social affiliations, political and economic organizations).

The knowledge and skills of the major are also designed to enhance the opportunities for students to compete successfully for admission to graduate and professional schools in environmental studies, international relations, law, political science, psychology, public administration, social work, and related fields. The major also allows students to earn licensure to teach history at the intermediate and high school levels (See below).
