Requirements for First Time College Students
High School or Home School Graduates
If you're a high school (or home-school) graduate, you qualify for unconditional admission as a first-time college student, if you:
- Complete 16 or more academic units while in high school. The
preferred curricula is listed below, however, all curricula
are considered:
- four units of English
- three units of Social Studies
- four units of mathematics
- Physical Science and two units of laboratory science
- two units of a foreign language
- Earn an ACT composite score of at least 18 or an SAT score of at least 850 (reading and math scores combined).
- Earn a minimum high school GPA of 2.0, both overall and on college prep courses.
GED Diploma
If you have your General Education Development (GED) diploma, you must have:
- A minimum score of 45 in each testing area.
- An ACT composite score of at least 18 or an SAT score of at least 850 (reading and math scores combined).
Additional Requirements
Admission decisions are based not only on your ACT/SAT scores and your GPA, but also on factors such as the quality of your high school course work, your grades in academic courses, letters of recommendation and your participation in extracurricular activities. You may be asked to submit a written essay explaining why you want to attend Ozarks, or interview with our Admission Committee.
Conditional Admission
If you don't meet the requirements listed above, you may still qualify for conditional admission.
