International Students
If you're not a U.S. Citizen and you don't have permanent resident alien status, you can apply for admission to Ozarks as an international student.
To apply for admission as an international student, you must:
- Earn a TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score of at least 500 or above on the paper based test or 173 or above on the computer based test. If an officinal TOEFL exam is not available, a personal interview with the Director of International Studies in conjunction with our internal English proficiency examination may be satisfactory.
- Submit the equivalent of a high school diploma with a 3.00 or higher grade point average on a 4.00 grade point scale is desired. This must be an official document from the school, with the school’s seal or stamp on it.
- If you've already attended another university, you must submit a school catalog that includes English course descriptions of the courses already taken. You must also submit documented evidence of course work and of examinations completed. All transcripts must be official, with the school seal. Transfer credits will not be finalized until we have the official documents on file.
- Submit a letter from your sponsor or sponsor’s bank stating there are funds available in the sponsor’s account to cover the your finances while studying in the United States. If there isn't proof of sufficient funds, the US Embassy may deny the issuance of your student visa.
- Submit a Financial Support Form (included in the International Student Application) which has been signed and dated by your sponsor.
- Complete the International Student Application Form.
Deposits
If you're admitted to Ozarks, you'll be required to send a $1,000 non-refundable deposit and an advance payment of $2,500 toward your first semester costs, with the balance (minus any scholarships) due upon arrival. This payment must be received before we will issue Form I-20 A-B/ID (Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant (F-1) Student Status - for Academic and Language Students). If you decide not to attend, we'll return your $2,500 payment -- this payment is not refundable after you start classes.
