Writing Your Essay
To be considered for a Presidential Scholarship you must submit an essay to the Ozarks Admissions Committee. Your essay must be at least 300 words long, and must be typed (double-spaced) on plain bond paper. Write your essay over either of these topics:
- Tell us about what you consider to be your greatest personal strength, and your greatest personal weakness. Give us examples of how you have utilized your strengths to be successful, and a specific example of how you have worked to overcome your weakness.
- Describe an example of a time when you've had to work with someone who has a different religious, political, sexual, or cultural orientation than you. What problems did this experience present for you, and how did you work through them? How has the experience changed the way you interact with others?
To renew the Presidential Scholarship: Earn a cumulative GPA of not less than 3.00 by the end of each of the first three years at Ozarks, and complete a minimum of 10 hours per semester of supervised community service activities.
