Housing Policies
At University of the Ozarks, we believe that living on campus is an important part of the total college experience. Living on campus can contribute significantly to your personal growth and development, while emphasizing the group experience of living together in the residence halls. As a residential community, students share the responsibility for creating a living and learning environment which will enable each to attain the academic and social skills necessary to function as a responsible community member in the hall and on campus. The mission of the Ozarks Residential Life staff is to build a community that encourages individual rights and responsibilities, campus involvement, multi-cultural interaction, and personal growth.
Each residence hall is staffed by a Resident Director (RD), an Assistant Resident Director (ARD) and Resident Assistants (RAs). Residence Hall Directors live in the residence halls and are responsible for the halls’ overall operation. The RAs help students adjust to the college environment by serving as peer advisors and leaders in the hall. They are there to help you with residence hall and/or personal problems. The staff, as well as the hall council, helps plan social, recreational, and developmental learning opportunities.
