Let our University Health Services Office keep you focus on your education. From the outpatient clinic to seasonal flu shots, we are here to help you stay healthy.

Outpatient Clinic

Ozarks has an on-campus outpatient clinic, the University Health Services Office, located in the lower level of Seay Student Center. The clinic is provided to ensure you have the reasonable medical care necessary to help you stay in class thereby minimizing interruptions in your education. The nurse on duty is authorized to administer first-aid for minor injuries, dispense over-the-counter medication for minor illnesses and take patient's temperature and blood pressure.

Visits to this clinic are FREE to students, faculty, and staff. Any over-the-counter medications, bandages, etc. are also free. The nurse will assist you by arranging appointments with local physicians, making "residence hall calls," or arranging transportation to the emergency room at Johnson Regional Medical Center.

The University Health Services Office is open 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday - Friday.

Flu Shots

Flu shots are normally offered in the fall at a pre-scheduled time by one of the local physicians for a fee of $15.00 each. If you live in the dorms, or if you have chronic bronchitis, asthma, or diabetes you should get a flu shot. An email is always sent out to all students a minimum of one week prior to the scheduled date. The flu shot will not give you the flu. Sometimes there are localized reactions at the injection site consisting of redness, pain or swelling. People who are allergic to eggs should never take the flu shot.

Health Insurance

University of the Ozarks encourages you to purchase a health and/or accident insurance plan to help cover the costs of any accidents or illnesses you might experience while enrolled as a student. Ozarks does not provide health coverage to students, and all medical expenses you might incur while you're enrolled are the responsibility of you or your parents.
